Kiss The Sky
is a visionary poetic tribute to the great freedom fighter Harriet
Tubman. Cushioned in serene shades of blue and fertile greens, Kiss
the Sky, gently pulls us into itself and watchful gaze of Harriet,
whose face is submerged in the layers of delicate cloud formations.
The ground, rocks, and mountains form Harriet Tubman's shoulders.
The stream forms a scarf around her neck. The bronzed archer in
the center, is the ambassador of love. He represents the ecstasy
of freedom, and stands for all those who have ever loved and appreciated
Harriet's unforgettable selfless acts of courage. This portrait
is saturated with subliminal figures. Hidden in the rocks, the water,
and the sky are hundreds of people. The people represent the former
slaves who Harriet Tubman led to freedom on The Underground Railroad.
These individuals are helping one another. Their blood, sweat, and
tears are now an intricate part of the American landscape
